BUILDING FINANCIAL
CAPABILITY
Our Financial Mentor, Ruth, will take into account the complexity of people's needs and provide you with more than just budget advice.
Ruth will focus on empowering people and making connections with a range of social services to ensure people get the right support.
Our Te Whare Putea Financial Mentor:

Is empathetic, has cultural understanding and experience, and is able to coach and empower people, and be open-minded

Will use the new Financial Plan of Action to develop a focused plan that will suit the person and their situation/whānau

Will take a strengths-based approach to reduce the cycle of crisis where possible
-
Will use clear lines of communication with Work and Income for your needs ensuring your privacy is respected at all times

Always uses other relationships and networks in the social sector to support their work to ensure people get the right support at the right time

Will support and empower people to negotiate reduced payments or generate additional resources
-
Can access support when needed. Oversee positive changes and help set and reach realistic and sustainable financial goals.
